Capitalism: Who Needs It–Ayn Rand and the American System

What: The opening talk of the Ayn Rand Center Lecture Series in Chicago, Illinois, “Capitalism: Who Needs It—Ayn Rand and the American System,” delivered by Yaron Brook.

When: Wednesday, June 9th 2010.

Location: Hyatt Regency Hotel, Plaza Ballroom | 151 E. Wacker Drive | Chicago, Illinois 60601

Time: Hors d’oeuvres will be served, and a cash bar available, from 5:30 to 6:00 pm. The talk will run from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Description (provided by ARC): Capitalism is under siege. The social-economic system that made America the land of opportunity, freedom and explosive growth is under attack. Many blame the greed and self-interest of Capitalists for today’s economic morass. Others wonder how and why the events in Ayn Rand’s novel, Atlas Shrugged, could so closely parallel today’s events.

We have organized a carpool to the event, which will depart at 2:00 or 3:00 pm depending upon the number of stops that must be made. If you would like to attend the event with us, e-mail Jim Allard and Ashley Roy at jallard@tds.net. The event and transportation are free of charge.
